At Asl Wa Sora, which translates from Arabic to ‘Original and Copy,’ we embrace the idea of each individual being a reflection of their Creator, an exact image of His divine nature. In a culture where teenage girls are often the lowest valued and most overlooked members of society, our mission is to change that narrative. We are committed to saving and supporting as many teenage girls in the villages of Egypt as possible. We aim to help these young women see God as the ‘asl’ (the original) and themselves as the ‘sora’ (the reflection), understanding their priceless worth as daughters of God. Knowing that they are loved and valuable is not only life-changing, but ultimately life-saving for many girls. With the guidance of local leaders and through practical support and discipleship, we strive to empower these girls to overcome serious challenges, make healthier life choices, and, ultimately, impact generations to come—all for the glory of God.”

Ongoing monthly support and mentoring

Each month, around 60 girls (and growing) gather with local leaders for an evening filled with fun, food, and spiritual discipleship. The leaders prepare a delicious meal, shared by all. After enjoying the meal, the leaders teach the girls about God, the Bible, spiritual disciplines, and their inherent worth as daughters of God.

Twice a year, at Christmas and Easter, the girls are invited to "shop" at the bazaar, where they can select a piece of donated clothing for themselves, and sometimes for a sibling as well. They enjoy picking out the perfect backpack or shoes, trying on clothes to ensure they fit and feel great. The leaders go above and beyond to make each girl feel special in her choices. For many, this is one of the highlights of the year! A heartfelt thank you to the generous donors in the US who contribute items for the bazaar.

“In His Image” Girls Conference

IIn 2024, Aslwa Sora hosted its very first "In His Image" conference. For many of the girls, it was their first time leaving the village, and we took them to Hurghada, Egypt, near the Red Sea, for a transformative three-day experience focused entirely on them. Speakers from both Egypt and the USA shared messages about their value as daughters of God—reminding them that they are beautiful, beloved, worthy of love, and created with a purpose. The conference included moments of joyful, jubilant worship, quiet learning and relationship-building, and times of deep healing to address the challenges they face. It was a truly life-changing experience.

In addition to the profound sessions, the girls also had a chance to enjoy activities outside their usual environment. They had fun eating ice cream, strolling through the town center of Hurghada, and swimming in the Red Sea—many of them for the very first time. The local leaders did a beautiful job decorating the conference center with uplifting words that emphasized their identity in Christ (beloved, beautiful, blessed) and even created crowns for each girl to wear during our game night. The entire weekend was filled with laughter, joy, and love.

Sponsor a girl for $35 a month

Some of the Aswla Sora young ladies are in deep need. Our partner organization, Healing Grace Ministries in Egypt, has made a way for sponsors to be able to support their practical needs.

In addition to what they already receive from Aswla Sora, a sponsorship of $35 per month provides each girl with:

Food supplies for their family once per month
Medical checkups 2X per year
2X a week connecting with local leaders
Clothing for one siblings 2X each year
In addition, you will be contributing through Healing Grace the following: fresh water for the entire village and a learning center for the entire village where students can go after school for tutoring.
